Encounter Church, also known as Tabernacle of Praise, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, faith-based organization committed to enriching and uplifting our community through purpose-driven programs.
Guided by our spiritual principles, we focus on Community and Economic Development, Diversity and Inclusion, and Education. Our mission is to cultivate 'Pathways to Prosperity,' offering Economic Empowerment for All through Financial Literacy, Entrepreneurial Skills Training, and inclusive educational initiatives.

At Encounter Church, we are a non-denominational community of believers united in our faith in Jesus Christ. While we do not align with a specific denomination, we hold firm to the core truths of Christianity that have been embraced by the global Church for centuries.
One of the foundational statements of Christian faith is The Apostle's Creed—a declaration that has been recited by believers throughout history as a testament to our shared beliefs. While this creed is not Scripture itself, it faithfully summarizes the essential doctrines taught in the Bible and affirms the central truths of our faith.
As a church, we stand on the authority of God’s Word, and the Apostle's Creed serves as a reminder of the unchanging gospel message that unites all who follow Christ.
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into hell;
on the third day, He rose again from the dead;
He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of God the
Father Almighty;
from there, He will come to judge the living
and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy universal Church,
the communion of saints,

From the late 80's when he was just a young man, through the 90's, Gary Oliver has been at the forefront of the Christian Worship scene. As a song-writer, illustrious singer, and preacher; Bishop Oliver is a multi-talented servant of God who has influenced generations.
